We are Peter, Richard and David Jensen

Our grandfather came from Denmark to Racine, Wisconsin in 1906. In 1907 he started painting and paperhanging. Our father learn the trade from him but was out of the business for a number of years. In 1955, in Chicago, dad started painting again working under his own name, Lauritz Jensen. We learned the trade from dad while working summers and weekends during high-school. I got married right out of high-school while Richard and David went off to France and Germany with the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. I managed to get a couple years of college while working full-time and Richard and David both got degrees after the service. Dad and I worked mostly alone while my brothers where away in school. After a stint teaching school and in the insurance business both Richard and David decided to join us in the business. I moved my family to the Northwest suburbs in 1960. Eventually my brothers followed and gradually our work became mostly suburban. From very early on we decided that we were most gratified by doing mostly residential painting and paperhanging where the demand for quality and reliable service was the greatest.

Presently our work force is comprised of :

• Three of the four son's of Lauritz Jensen ( Our brother Robert couldn't make it as a painter so he became a pediatrician).
• Bob and Jim, two of my three my son's
• Scott and Eric, full time employees
